Our Gender Reveal
When we finally got pregnant with my son with IVF, most of our friends and family knew about the 2 1/2 year fertility journey that we had been through. We went all out and threw a big Gender Reveal Party with everyone to celebrate my pregnancy with Baby Allan. The party was amazing, we had been surrounded by so much love and support along the way, we wanted to show our appreciation to everyone who had been there for us. I had decorated 2, identical boxes with black paint and white question marks. Inside one box I had filled with blue streamers and balloons, the other box had the same filling in pink. I had marked the outside of each box with a gender specific post it note and left them in a separate room. When it was reveal time, I handed both of our mom's the envelope from our doctor with the test results and asked them to open it together in private. I remember hearing them celebrate the surprise news from the other room which only added to the suspense. They selected the correct box and brought it to us at the party... the rest is history! ♥https://youtu.be/2M5k5TMSe-wAs you all know from my fertility journey part one and part two, learning that I was pregnant naturally has been such a shock and an absolute miracle. Given our history, naturally we wanted to wait to make sure everything was going well with the pregnancy so we have been hesitant to share this news, until now. We received the voicemail in the afternoon on February 14th. I had previously purchased these adorable Gender Eggnouncements from Etsy for the occasion. Brett and I were already planning on going to dinner to celebrate Valentines Day so adding this surprise made it that much more special. Luckily our nanny was there to watch Brock for us and was able to privately listen to the voicemail and select the matching egg. The fact that we were able to open it as a family made it so memorable, we were all so surprised to hear the news and soooo happy! ♥https://youtu.be/pWqOwbFHpmcBrock can't wait to have a baby sister! We got him a pretend "baby" and she sleeps in his room next to him. In all honesty, I don't think he has any idea what is about to happen to our family dynamic but it's such a blessing for us all, I know he's going to love having a little sister to take care of.Thank you so much for following along on my journey, I really appreciate all the support so much! ♥Xo, Shawna
