Personal Items Packed in My Hospital Bag
I'm 37 weeks pregnant and feeling so good that we have made it this far along! I'm happy to report that the nursery is juuuust about finished and my hospital bag is finally packed. We are officially ready and awaiting the arrival of our sweet little girl any day now.As I was packing my hospital bag, I realized that I'm going to be more prepared then I was last time. For one, we've done it before, however with Brock my water broke at home and I threw some things in a bag quickly before our departure. Luckily for us, we live so close to the hospital Brett was able to go home to grab whatever it was we would need later.I wanted to feel more prepared this time, and even though I’ve waited much longer than I maybe should have to get it done…I’m packed! Combining my personal experience from last time and researching (about a million) lists on Pinterest, I'm sharing the personal items that I'm bringing to the hospital with me. Could you do without some of the luxury items? Sure. But, if you have room in your bag, add them! You won't be sorry.A TOWELThis! Yes, I can totally get by using the little white towels that barely wrap around my thigh + feel like sandpaper, but the feeling of a full size, SOFT towel on my body (especially after delivering a baby) is a wonderful thing. A PILLOWIt's already hard enough having to sleep in an uncomfortable hospital bed, spoil yourself and bring your favorite pillow. It will be incredibly luxurious having a little slice of home with you while you sleep. Brett and I love this one by Coop. A COMFY NIGHGOWN & ROBEOf course you’ll want to bring your own, but bring one that feels like a dream and looks good when you wear it. This Twist Nightgown by KicKee Pants is SO comfortable and flattering. The matching robe feels dreamy on too. It’s great for lounging at the hospital, appropriate when expecting visitors and practical for nursing needs, too. I'm also bringing this super soft long sleeve option by Legoe in my bag too. A BLANKETBy bringing a few elements from home to make it cozier, you will get yourself more rest and feel so much better! A blanket (especially this really soft one by Cozy's) is worth the space in your bag! SLIPPERS I know that the hospital gives you those socks with the little grippers on the bottom to wear around, but let’s be honest, who actually thinks those are comfortable? I like sliding my feet into comfy slippers to walk around. PS - I prefer ballet style slippers with a back for the hospital, they seem to have more stability.
