5 Skincare Hacks I Swear By
I’ve felt a calling to do a skincare check in. And because this stuff excites me more than I’m willing to admit, I’m hoping this post is going to be super helpful. These incredible hacks + finding amazing products that have improved my skin + a low-stress life, my skin is the happiest it’s ever been. While there aren’t a ton of hacks, I do think each one has been life-changing for my skin.
Face Oil - I truly believe in the power of face oil. I typically apply 2-3 times a day. There are so many good ones on the market which makes it fun. For me, smell is important and I fly through them so I want the price point to feel comfortable. But honestly, what got me hooked on the oil thing was cleansing oil. There is truly, no better moisturizing cleanser that gets ALL your makeup off. Big fan of z’ oil.
Cold - My skin (maybe yours too) doesn’t like hot. Growing up I remember always wondering why my skin was so red after washing it with warm water. My face would also stay red for a long time. Overtime, I think the high temperature contributed to a lot of the pigmentation I have been working on correcting with my skin. During covid is when I really started to experiment with cold water on my face first thing in the morning, colder showers, ice rollers, cold plunges, I have loved trying it all and I have seen such an improvement with my body, my skin included, especially on my face. The ice roller has been a nice touch, especially when it’s hot. So nice in the mornings too, it wakes me up and sort of tightens up all of the skin, it’s amazing.
Facials & Masks - One of the things I’ve done for me, my mind, my skin was committing to regular facials. I look forward to my hour of bliss every single month and my skin truly reaps the benefits. An at-home mask to me, like facials, is dilebrity taking time away to take care of me. your skin is 100% an opportunity for make it fun and feel special. Types of masks? It’s nice to have a few different ones on hand that target things like breakouts (anything with clay) and hydrating ones are so nice to have for those dryer winter months. I do however, always have a brightening mask around and do that at least once a week. This one I love so much, I can put it on and forget about it and my skin always looks brighter.
Face Towels - I heard the term butt hole towel on a Podcast and everything changed. I had never really given it much thought but I was used to drying my face off with whatever was just there, in the bathroom. Which was 100% putting nasty germs all over MY FACE. I got these buttery soft baby washcloths and they have been a deal changer. I suggest using a new towel, everytime. I use them with my face oil at night and it gets all the makeup off. They’re super soft and absorbent, I love to use them to dry my face off as well. I keep them folded cute in a basket, just like the spa. I wash them separately in Honest detergent without softener and fragrance because they are only touching my face.
Sunless Tanning - For me, having a tan makes me feel my most confident so it’s actually important for me to do things like self-tan. These products are the ones on my current rotation, more on how I get tan quickly here. Smell is huge for me and I’ve been really happy with these products, they all deliver a nice natural looking glow as well.
